Natasha De Freitas is a natural beauty with a humble spirit who was born in Trinidad and Tobago in 1981. She has always had a passion for writing growing up, and would often be found reading a book whilst her siblings were playing outside. Academically, she has always excelled, and with her migration to the United States there was no change. In high school in Georgia, she was her school’s yearbook editor for her senior year, and the Air Force JROTC’s Public Relations Officer consecutively. For both courses, she was the in-house photographer and got the feel of a press personality during that time. She went on to join several groups, which included the French Club, Swimming and Soccer Teams. For both swimming and soccer she was Rookie of the Year and Co-Captains, and graduated top ten percent of her class as a National Honor Student. When she left Trinidad, she had several short stories that she now calls her “lost works.” They were left behind on her move, and she never retrieved them. She started a new collection, and now has a completed manuscript with her name in print called Pelau, which she dedicated to her deceased grandmother who she refers to lovingly as Mommy. She is currently attending Georgia Perimeter College in pursuit of her Journalism degree.
